Consider resveratrol, a powerful antioxidant that has shown some anti-inflammation activity, and anti-cancer activity.1 Resveratrol is a naturally occurring antimicrobial substance, which is produced by plants to fight off infection. According to a recent article in Science Translational Medicine, “… resveratrol operates by modulating energy balance and responding to stress.”1 This is classic adaptogen activity. Adaptogens help us adapt to, and rise above the stresses that we encounter.
